The History of Fountain Ranch

In 1911, Dr. Matthew Fountain purchased 200 acres along the Trinity River and helped shape the early community of Salyer, building its first bridge and establishing a working ranch that would remain in the family for generations. From the beginning, the land carried both purpose and vision.

Over a century later, the ranch is still stewarded by the same family and continues to operate as a working cattle ranch. Hosting weddings and retreats here simply adds new stories to a place that has always been lived in and deeply cared for. We’d be honored to have your celebration unfold here.
